Yungblud announces details of new self-titled album

After revealing two new songs earlier this year, Yungblud has confirmed his third studio album is on the way, with the self-titled set expected to be released on September 2nd via Locomotion/Geffen Records.

To add to the excitement, a countdown clock began this morning via the musician’s website, leading to a live stream where Yungblud made the official announcement for the album. During the show, the musician got a tattoo on his chest area to commemorate the experience.

“Everything up until that moment was a complete blast of uncensored speech where I was just telling the truth and singing about what I was feeling at that precise moment,” says the singer. “The difference here is that I thought and felt this record so deeply. I went to a part of me that I didn’t know was there. I’ve studied him, bathed in emotion, tried to solve the equation and emerged with an answer (for now at least) of love to pain, adoration to devotion, laughter to betrayal.”

He continues: “My message is the same, it always will be; I will continue to be nothing but myself and encourage others to do the same. There is simply no other option. This journey gives answers about herself, but also questions and challenges, but most of all I hope that she fills them with love. You have given me an antidote for the emptiness and loneliness I have felt in the past. you gave me a vote So here’s my story Why did I name it? YUNGBLUD? Because nothing in my life has ever made more sense.”

The album announcement comes while Yungblud is currently going through the hot phase of two singles that were released back in 2022. He teamed up with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in the video for The Funeral, which was released in March and was followed shortly thereafter by Memories, with a guest appearance by Willow.

The new album may not be out until September, but that hasn’t stopped Yungblud from promoting it as he’s currently rocking Europe on his sold-out ‘Life on Mars’ tour. Keep an eye out for the singer, who returns to the US this fall with select dates including festival appearances at the Austin City Limits Festival, Louder Than Life, Riot Fest and the Firefly Music Festival. Pre-orders/pre-saves for the self-titled Yungblud album are currently ongoing at this location.
