Trattoria Sofia, the newest concept from Berg Hospitality Group, is due to open on November 19th at 911 W. 11th St. in Houston and offers rustic Italian food in a romantic setting.
The menu will specialize in modern interpretations of classic Italian dishes, according to a press release from Berg Hospitality on November 12th. The menu was developed with the help of renowned chef Magnus Hansson together with LJ Wiley, who will be the local chef.
Menu items include Bucatini alla Pesto Siciliano – a pasta dish made from bucatini, Sicilian pesto, ricotta, pecorino siciliana, and roasted pistachios – and Costa di Manzo al Gorgonzola Dolce, a 14-ounce ribeye served with Gorgonzola dulce, matured balsamic vinegar, fire tomato and braised radicchio.
According to the press release, a drinks menu offers a selection of wines and classic cocktails that go well with Italian food. The drinks menu is overseen by mixologist Alba Huerta, who recently entered into a partnership with Berg as the group’s new drinks advisor.
“We always try to improve ourselves and the experience for our guests,” said Benjamin Berg, founder of Berg Hospitality, in a statement about all the concepts, and I look forward to the training it will offer our employees. “
