Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) Founder and Lok Sabha MP Thol. Thirumavalavan launched a campaign in Tamil Nadu on Sunday by distributing leaflets on Manusmriti to raise awareness among the people of his views on non-Brahmins and women.
The 32-page pamphlets, which were compiled by scholar Gauthama Sana and included Tamil translations of verses from Manusmriti, were distributed by the MP to commuters at Koyambedu bus station.
The book comes with an introduction by Thirumavalavan.
The VCK cadres also distributed the booklets for free in public places across the state.
Thirumavalavan said: “Hindu society continues to work on the basis of Manusmriti. Although the constitution came into force in 1950, Manusmriti’s full influence is evident in the social and cultural aspects of society.”
“Manusmriti regards women who may belong to any of the four varnas as sudras. We want to create awareness for this. Manusmriti is the political ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Sangh Parivar. They want to once again strengthen the Varna system prescribed in Manusmriti,” he added.
