The Bulgarian Air Force’s MiG-29 and Sur-25 fighter jets will perform in the sky over the Graf Ignatievo air base near Plovdiv on May 6, Armed Forces Day, the Defense Ministry said.
The demonstration with air combat maneuvers starts at 10 am.
teams from 24th Krumovo Air Force Base will hold a demonstration of aerial firefighting using a Mi-17 helicopter and there will be a demonstration of perimeter security and aeromedical evacuation using Cougar helicopters.
At 10.20 a show will be held at the Varna Naval Station, attended by personnel from the Naval Special Operations Department, the Chaika Naval Heliport, combat and support ships. The demonstration is said to be an operation to board a ship on which hostages have been taken.
At 10:40 a.m., Special Operations Joint Command personnel at the Tsrancha Training Complex will conduct a demonstration involving a Cougar helicopter and high and low altitude parachute jumps from a Spartan aircraft.
At 11.15 Bulgarian military personnel and members of US 2nd The cavalry regiment, members of NATO’s joint battle group in Bulgaria, will give a demonstration of battlefield reconnaissance, area defense and counterattack at the Novo Selo training ground.
Other Armed Forces Day events on May 6 include an open house at the Naval Museum in Varna and the Aviation Museum in Krumovo.
