The high-level memorial meeting was jointly organized by the President of the Republic of Serbia, HE Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, together with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, HE Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the chairman of the NAM.
The meeting was attended by 120 Member States, including 17 observer states and 10 international observer organizations. The delegations discussed the historical significance of the Belgrade Conference in 1961 by referring to the noble aim of the founding fathers of the NAM took place 60 years ago in Belgrade, which was supposed to promote peaceful coexistence and sustainable development in full accordance with the Bandung principles.
The delegates also reaffirmed the importance of multilateralism, international cooperation and solidarity.
In Bulgaria, the Deputy Minister met with the Minister of Economy Daniela Vezieva to discuss economic cooperation.
The Deputy Minister also took part in a business round table at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Deputy Minister Botes concluded his working visit with bilateral political consultations with Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Zarista Dinkova.
The meeting discussed the commitment of both sides to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as possible cooperation on regional and multilateral issues in areas of common interest. The meeting also discussed ways to increase FDI in South Africa and improve South African value added exports to Bulgaria.
