Although Raja Ravi Varma originally belonged to Kerala, he traveled extensively throughout India, serving as court painter to various Indian princes. At the invitation of the great visionary Maharaja of Baroda, Maharaja Sayajirao; Ravi Varma spent quite a bit of time in Vadodara creating masterpieces that are proudly owned by the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum. Unfortunately, the studio he stayed in was in a state of disrepair by 2017.
