When asked where they would like to buy large household appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers or ovens, 59 percent go to the large household chains or to a nearby electrical retailer. The answer “don’t know” was given by 24 percent of those questioned, mostly young people who either live with their parents or in a rented apartment.

Those who prefer Shopping online Choose it for its speed and convenience. Only 5 percent choose it for fear of being infected with COVID-19.

Of those who do not shop online or only shop online as a last resort, one in three says that they want to see the product or that they are used to stationary shopping. Only 12 percent are afraid of scams, which means that they distrust in Shopping online declined dramatically since this last group predominated five or six years ago, Ganev said.

The survey also asked questions about consumer criteria when choosing household electrical appliances in general and smart appliances in particular.
