Old newspaper clippings about UP students begging to study but denied admission, as shared recently

Hyderabad: An image of a newspaper clipping with the headline, “DM Sir, I want to read, but Master won’t let me in” is being shared widely on social media. Social media users claim the news is new and the incident occurred during the reign of the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the clip, a student, Ramanuj Yadav from Gonda City in UP, applied for Class VI in a junior high school, but the headmaster, Hariram Shukla, abused and evicted him. The headmaster said to Ramanuj, “Will education make you prime minister? Go and work in the fields.” Then Ramanuj wrote to the DM and asked for help.

According to the report, “Ramanuj Yadav from the village of Khodipurwa in Lavvatepura, Gonda district, wrote a letter to the district collector expressing his grief. Headmaster Shukla berated him and said he would become prime minister after graduation and asked him to go into the fields go and work. “

We tried to look for such incidents that had occurred recently but found no reports.

It should be noted that Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister of UP in March 2017 and this news was previously viral. In 2016, when the incident occurred, Akhilesh Yadav was the state’s top minister.

It is therefore evident that the claim made by the viral post is wrong. An old newspaper clipping is split to blame the BJP government.
