If you thought you were teasing the bands earlier this year, just wait until you see what this year’s Furnace Fest has in store for you. A final lineup (minus a headliner to be named) has been announced, with Mastodon and Thrice among the headliners of the three-day music festival.
The festival will take place over the weekend of September 23-25 at Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. On opening night, fans will bring Thrice into the headlining spot, which revisits their full-length 2002 album The Illusion of Safety. Other artists featured on Friday (September 23) include New Found Glory, Alexisonfire, Midtown, Shadows Fall, Quicksand and more.
On Saturday (September 24) the to-be-named headliner will play alongside the Manchester Orchestra, The Ghost Inside, Elliott (who reunited for this performance), Blindside be silent Album, Poison the Well and more.
And Sunday (September 25) concludes with the mighty Mastodon set after Descendents, The Story So Far, In Flames, American Nightmare, Avail, Four Year Strong enemy of the world and more.
“Furnace Fest napped for 17 years before a group of us banded together in hopes of a once-in-a-lifetime reunion,” shared the Furnace Fest team. “After myriad difficulties (like a global pandemic and three reschedules), ‘Resurrection Once Again’ went so well that we knew it was only fair to share the experience again. We are very excited to share this line-up and look forward to welcoming a total of 90 bands across four stages in one, if not the most unique venue in the world. For us, Furnace Fest is not a festival. This is a family reunion of the most epic kind.”
