Due to restrictions, Galway-based folk singer-songwriter Maija Sofia has split her upcoming show at The Workman’s Club into two shows this Thursday, December 9th.
The first appearance will take place at 7.30 p.m., the second appearance is planned for 9.30 p.m. Those who bought tickets should be contacted by their ticket provider with time information.
Maija says about the events that Thursday; “Hi everyone, thank you very much for your patience with this show, given the government’s constant hacking and change, we can only continue to split it into two shows as we can’t have more than 50% right now. Capacity in space.
“I know some of you bought tickets over a year ago (!) And I’m so grateful that I’m really excited to play for you guys. In the whole two years since my last Dublin show, I’ve had a whole new album written and I can’t wait to play some of these songs live with my band for the first time on Thursday. Thank you for your understanding and see you then, Maija x “
The Trinity College Dublin graduate released her first EP, feeling light, in 2014 before sharing The sea of ââsugar EP the following year.
Sofia’s debut album 2019 Bath time has been described as “a collection of songs exploring the female experience in art, history and folklore”. The project was nominated for the Choice Music Prize.
