Inter Primavera striker Nikola Iliev’s agent has suggested his client should be considered for the first-team while slamming the club’s lack of faith in youth.
Iliev has attracted attention at youth level for the Nerazzurri this season, scoring four goals against Viktoria Plzen in the Youth Champions League after scoring against Fiorentina in the Primavera League last week.
In conversation with FCInterNews.itagent Kaloyan Ivanov argued that the 18-year-old Bulgarian deserved to impress at a higher level, citing other clubs in Italy and Europe who are more willing to bet on young talent.
“He’s definitely one of the biggest talents, even if there are a lot of strong guys,” said Ivanov.
“He finished last year very well, played an excellent season and made his mark not only in the semi-finals but also in the final.
“Who wouldn’t think of coming on the bench in Serie A? I think he deserves it.
He already showed the Nerazzurri that he can play in the first team when he was called up by Bulgaria and he expects that to happen soon,” he added.
“I’ve seen other top Serie A clubs like Roma and Juventus use young players in their games, while Napoli did last year too.
“If we look abroad, Bayern Munich have bet on a class of 2005 and the big teams are doing it. I think Inter should open their eyes and think about the future.”
Meanwhile, the agent also admitted that Iliev needed regular football at Inter or elsewhere and a loan move wasn’t out of the question.
“I’m working on his future, there are great teams that are interested in him.
“He needs to be given a chance in the Inter first team. Other top clubs have already done that.”
Iliev’s impressive performances for the Primavera led to a national team call-up for the Bulgaria senior team and the former Botev Plovdiv striker made his debut in September’s 5-1 win against Gibraltar before earning his second cap against North Macedonia.
To be honest, he played very well in both games, I can’t wait for it to happen again,” concluded Ivanov.
