We haven’t heard much about it yet Bulgaria‘s plans for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, but now a Bulgarian rock group claims they are in the final stages of negotiations to represent their country in Italy next year. Dr. Milen Vrabevski – founder of the international rock collaboration the Smart music project – claims the project is about to be signed with BNT for Eurovision 2022.
The businessman and art patron revealed details in a chat on Radio Plovdiv. He said:
“The top news I am sharing with you on this radio is that we have been selected to represent Bulgaria at the next Eurovision Song Contest in Italy. With the idea that we made with BNT a few months ago – if we are looking for a voice, a team of international stars with a Bulgarian project will make a lot more impression, a lot more votes than a purely Bulgarian team. We are planning that with a new approach. “
Host Antonia Popova then asked Vrabevski whether it would be BNT’s final decision that Intelligent Music would represent Bulgaria at Eurovision. He replied, “I hope it’s final, I’m waiting for us to sign the contract with BNT in a week.”
After the success of the Italian rock band Måneskin, Eurovision could have become more attractive for the rock-oriented Intelligent Music Project.
However, it is important to note that the transmitter is BNT at this point not confirms all information about their plans for Eurovision 2022 or whether the Intelligent Music Project will be on board. In recent years, BNT has teamed up with internally selected artists who are able to bring a complete package to Eurovision. A partnership with the Intelligent Music Project might suit this method.
