Four other actors accompany Amblin’s last journey the Demeter
Another one Dracula Spin-off film is in the works, and this one fills its cast with multiple recognizable faces. The Hollywood Reporter reports that David Dastmalchian, Liam Cunningham, Aisling Franciosi and Javier Botet all make up the cast of Amblins Demeter’s last voyage.
The film draws on the chapter in Bram Stoker’s novel that tells the unfortunate voyage of the title ship from Varna to Whitby, England. As readers will remember, Dracula stowed away on this ship and gradually devoured his crew members until there was only one survivor left. André Øvredal, who directed the 2019s Scary stories that can be told in the dark, directs the film.
There are different Dracula Offshoots in the works, including Chloe Zhao’s “Science Fiction Western” on the property and Chris McKays Renfield Vehicle. However, Demeter’s last voyage has been in development for almost 20 years. Bragi Schut wrote the original draft of the script back in 2002. But now that the project has been given another chance, Amblin has hired Zak Olkewicz to update the story. Olkewicz recently wrote the screenplay for Sony’s Express train, which hits theaters next year.
Javier Botet, who has experience playing otherworldly creatures in films like. Has It and Thin manShe plays Dracula in the movie. Cunningham plays the captain of Demeter while Dastmalchian plays his first mate Wojchek. Meanwhile, Franciosi plays another stowaway named Anna. Corey Hawkins joined the film earlier this year. The cast also includes Jon Jon Briones, Stefan Kapicic, Nikolai Nikolaeff, Woody Norman, Martin Furulund and Chris Walley.
Amblin has no release date for. announced Demeter’s last voyage.
