86 people in Bulgaria who tested positive for Covid-19 died last day, bringing the country’s disease-related death toll to 22,188, according to the unified information portal report dated October 16.
Of 24,730 tests done the previous day, 3,440 – about 13.91 percent – proved positive.
So far, 537,752 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Bulgaria, of which 58,764 are active. The number of active cases increased by 1707 last day.
According to the report, 1,647 people were registered as recovered on the previous day, bringing the total to 456,800.
In Bulgaria there are 5936 patients with Covid-19 in hospital. The number of new patients in the hospital is 740, the report said. 509 are in intensive care, 16 more than in the October 15 report.
Forty-four medical staff tested positive last day for a total of 15,033.
So far, a total of 2,623,783 vaccine doses against Covid-19 have been administered in Bulgaria, 8634 of them on the previous day.
A total of 1,382,469 people in Bulgaria completed the vaccination cycle, including 4,953 on the previous day.
A total of 7,748 people received a booster vaccination, the report said.
