Covid-19 in Bulgaria: 77 dead last day, 1966 new cases

77 people in Bulgaria who tested positive for Covid-19 died last day, bringing the country’s death toll from the disease to 30,436, according to the unified information portal report dated December 24.

Of 34,596 tests done the previous day, 1966 – about 5.68 percent – proved positive.

So far, 732 106 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Bulgaria, of which 96 619 are active. The number of active cases rose by 649 last day.

The report said that as of the previous day, 1,240 people were registered to have recovered from the virus, bringing the total to 605,051.

In Bulgaria there are 4104 patients with Covid-19 in hospital, 399 have been newly admitted. There are 479 in intensive care, 14 fewer than in the December 23 report.

Thirteen medical staff tested positive the previous day, making a total of 17,958.

So far, 3,652,226 vaccine doses against Covid-19 have been administered in Bulgaria, 12,930 of them on the previous day.

A total of 1,896,565 people completed the vaccination cycle, of which 5,842 on the last day, while 250,595 received a booster, of which 6,274 were on the last day.
