A total of 464 people in Bulgaria who tested positive for Covid-19 died in the past week, bringing the country’s disease-related death toll to 20,449, according to figures in the National Information System report dated Jan.
According to the report, 492 365 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Bulgaria so far, including 10 637 in the past week.
There are 42,409 active cases, up from 3,021 in the past week.
A total of 5040 patients with Covid-19 are hospitalized in Bulgaria, an increase of 337 in the past week, 418 of them in intensive care, an increase of 22 during this time.
A total of 145 medical staff tested positive in the past week, making a total of 14,361.
In the past week, 45 079 vaccine doses against Covid-19 were administered in Bulgaria, of which 2467 were administered on the previous day, for a total of 2,507,048.
Last week, a total of 33,118 people in Bulgaria completed the vaccination cycle, 1,729 of them on the previous day, making a total of 1,307,993.
Of 10,875 tests done on Sept. 25, a total of 1,038 – about 9.54 percent – turned out positive, the report said.
