The death of 40 people in Bulgaria who tested positive for Covid-19 was recorded on Sunday, increasing the number of disease-related deaths in the country, according to the unified information portal report dated Jan.
Of 6002 tests done the previous day, 496 – about 8.26 percent – turned out positive.
So far, 492,861 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Bulgaria, of which 42,325 are active. The number of active cases fell by 84 last day, according to the report.
The report said 540 people recovered from the virus last day, bringing the total to 430,047.
There are 5,078 hospitalized patients with Covid-19 in Bulgaria, an increase of 38 from the number reported in the September 26 report. A total of 418 are in the intensive care unit, unchanged from the value in the previous day’s report.
Four medical staff tested positive last day for a total of 14,365.
In Bulgaria, a total of 1,513 vaccine doses against Covid-19 were administered on Sunday, making a total of 2,508,560.
So far, 1,309,135 people in Bulgaria have completed the vaccination cycle, including 1,142 on Sunday, the report said.
