A total of 29 people in Bulgaria who tested positive for Covid-19 died last week, the lowest number of Covid-19 fatalities in a week in the country since early 2021.
According to the National Information System report dated July 18, the death toll from Covid-19 in Bulgaria is now 18,169.
The highest number of Covid-19 deaths in Bulgaria in one week so far this year was 857 in the week ending April 4.
So far, 422,930 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Bulgaria, with the number increasing by 484 in the past week.
There are 7591 active cases, 400 fewer than a week ago.
According to the report, 397 170 people had recovered from the virus, up from 855 in the previous week, including 10 the previous day.
There are 741 patients hospitalized with Covid-19, down from 81 last week, including 91 in intensive care, down from 13 over that time.
Eight medical staff tested positive in the past week, making a total of 13,458.
So far, 1,909,909 vaccine doses against Covid-19 have been administered in Bulgaria, with the number increasing by 59,419 in the past week, including 2,662 on Saturday.
A total of 873,183 people completed the vaccination cycle, a number up 25,184 over the past week, including 1005 on Saturday.
Of 10,701 tests done on Saturday, 57 – about 0.53 percent – turned out positive.
