25 people in Bulgaria who had tested positive for Covid-19 died in the past day, bringing the country’s death toll from the disease to 36,375, according to the Unified Information Portal report on March 24.
Of 13,017 tests done over the past day, 1,552 – about 11.92 percent – were positive.
To date, 1,129,641 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Bulgaria, of which 191,254 are active.
The number of active cases fell by 28 over the past day.
According to the report, 1,555 people were recorded as having recovered from the virus over the past day, bringing the total to 902,012.
On March 24, Bulgaria’s national Covid-19 morbidity rate on a 14-day basis was 314.51 per 100,000 population, compared to 319.83 on March 23.
In Bulgaria, 2025 patients with Covid-19 are hospitalized, 188 were newly admitted. There are 233 in intensive care, three fewer than the number in the March 23 report.
Thirty medical workers tested positive over the past day, bringing the total to 23,918.
To date, 4,340,722 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 have been administered in Bulgaria, of which 2,082 have been administered in the past day.
According to the report, 2,048,442 people had completed the vaccination cycle. This is an increase of 412 from the number in the March 23 report.
A total of 715,012 people received a booster shot, 1,536 of them in the past day.
