‘Code Orange’ weather warning for 4 counties in southern Bulgaria on December 11th

The Bulgarian authorities have announced for the 11th

The four districts are Blagoevgrad, Smolyan, Kurdzhali and Haskovo.

Twenty districts were warned of potentially dangerous weather with the lesser “Code Yellow” warning.

Most of western Bulgaria has been warned of forecast heavy rain – the city and district of Sofia, as well as the districts of Pernik, Kyustendil, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Lovech and Gabrovo.

Districts in eastern Bulgaria received the warning of forecast strong winds – Veliko Turnovo, Rousse, Turgovishte, Razgrad, Silistra, Shumen, Dobrich, Varna, Burgas, Jambol and Sliven.

A warning of stormy winds and moderately high waves was issued for the entire length of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

The Stara Zagora district received a “Code Yellow” warning for both heavy rain and strong winds.

The remaining four districts in northwestern Bulgaria – Vidin, Montana, Vratsa and Pleven – have been given “Code Green”, which means that there is no weather warning.
