The Beer Store makes us think so, and while some of its simple potato chips and beer combinations might be a headache in the summer, let’s be adventurous.

Pure taste and beer: Who wouldn’t disagree? My point of contact in front of the tube for sports or Netflix is ​​a nice pilsner like the well-known Steam Whistle or a lesser-known lager like Anderson Gold, Stone House Pilsner from Varna or Rockwell from the Collingwood Brewery with classic chips. It’s an easy choice that appeals to the lazy in me. After all, Pils are the favorite accompaniment to fried dishes. It’s because of the salt.

Salt and Vinegar and English Pale Ale: Salt and vinegar chips seem like kids’ stuff, English pale ales like for the discerning beer fan. So is that a strange combination? My wife might not, but I’m looking forward to the interplay between the cucumber taste and the grassy hops of a Kölsch.

Ketchup and Season: Welcome to Strange That Works. Those sweet and sour ketchup chips scream for Canada, but paired it with a season? It’s a thumbs up, with the sour taste of a seasonal or farmhouse ale, such as Norfolk County’s Saison de la Meuse. Would it work with the new Upper Thames of Woodstock Making Waves too?

Barbecue and stout: Time for a deep breath and a sigh. Always a favorite with rich chocolate desserts or even certain cheeses, the thought of a wonderful stout like Dam Dark from Thornbury Village Brewery or Deep Cycle from Powerhouse of London in my hand and a bowl of overwhelming barbecue chips on my lap seems wrong on my lap many levels. Steam Whistle will represent Phillips in Ontario, showcasing beers like Electric Unicorn White IPA, Tiger Shark Citra Pale Ale, and Glitterbomb, a hazy pale ale. Phillips will commercialize Steam Whistle’s six-beer portfolio, including the Pilsner, as well as the Canada-brewed New Belgium brands Fat Tire and Voodoo Ranger in BC and Alberta. There is no change of ownership.

Do you love blueberries? Half Hours on Earth at Seaford features Kozmic Blues, a blueberry and banana muffin, brown sugar, and vanilla sour.
