Betway launches in Bulgaria after receiving a license from the NRA

Betway continues its expansion in the Eastern European market and launches in Bulgaria. The news was announced by the sports betting operator on Monday and was distributed to the Bulgarian media and Betway’s affiliate marketing partners.

The Bulgarian National Tax Authority granted the license to Betway

The launch of the UK-based sportsbook in Bulgaria marks the 12thth Jurisdiction in Europe where Betway will operate. The group has B2C licenses in Germany, Portugal, Denmark, Malta, Great Britain, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Ireland and France. As for other areas outside of Europe, Betway is making significant efforts in Ghana.

The Bulgarian National Revenue Agency oversees online and land-based gambling activities and reports to the country’s Ministry of Finance. This regulator granted Betway the market license and thus began Betway’s expansion plans in Eastern Europe.

Originally, the sports betting operator obtained a license in Poland but has not yet launched its services there as its parent company – Super Group – is preparing for a SPAC merger with Sports Entertainment Acquisition Corp. focused.

In order to ensure that the Bulgarian Law on Gambling is compatible with EEA economic law, the Bulgarian authorities have decided to update the provisions of the law. The launch of Betway in the country turned out to be a great success as locals can bet on numerous sports: football, tennis, basketball, e-sports etc. All the bonus offers from the sportsbook are also up for grabs.

Betway has partnered with Simplebet to deliver products in 5 US states

Betway is also careful not to lose focus on the US market. After all, US online sports betting and online gambling in general is poised for huge expansion and every operator wants a piece of the pie.

Recently, Simplebet and Betway announced a partnership that will allow Simplebet to ship its products through the Betway platform in 5 US states: Pennsylvania, Iowa, New Jersey, Colorado and Indiana.

Anthony Werkman, the CEO of Betway stated that as the company continues to grow in the US market, it is crucial to provide the best experience for its customers and that is what they plan to do by partnering with Simplebet.

Simplebet CEO and co-founder Chris Bevilacqua also shared his excitement. He said that everyone at Simplebet is thrilled to have the company’s micro betting products on a platform as big as Betway’s. The news came just before the Super Bowl, the biggest event on the US sports calendar.

The improved customer experience is also the reason why Betway signed an expansion deal with Genius Sports back in January. With the expanded deal, Genius Sports will make its LiveData and LiveTrading solutions available to Betway.
