The line-up for the Plovdiv Jazz Fest 2021, which runs from October 29th to 31st, includes Grammy winner Antonio SÃ¡nchez and Grammy winner Brad Mehldau Trio.
Four-time Grammy winner SÃ¡nchez, one of the most sought-after drummers on the international jazz scene, is one of the most respected contributors to guitarist / composer Pat Metheny and has worked with many other prominent artists such as Chick Corea. recorded and played by Gary Burton, Michael Brecker, Charlie Haden and Toots Thielmans.
SÃ¡nchez currently has almost a dozen recordings as a leader and solo artist. More details can be found at its official website.
Grammy-winning jazz pianist Brad Mehldau has made and played numerous recordings since the early 1990s.
Starting in 1996, his group released a series of five albums on Warner Bros. entitled The Art of the Trio.
During the same period, Mehldau also released a solo piano recording entitled Elegiac Cycle and a record called Places, which included both solo piano and trio songs. Mehldau also recorded Largo, a collaboration with innovative musician and producer Jon Brion, and Anything Goes – a trio excursion with bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Jorge Rossy. the Plovdiv Jazz Festival 2021 Opening on October 29th at 8 pm in the Boris Christoff House of Culture with âFour Young Ladies Sing Jazzâ with Elena Sirakova, Veleka Tsankova, Edith Undzhian and Miroslava Todorova, with arrangements by Maestro Vassil Spassov.
SÃ¡nchez will perform with Thana Alexa on October 30th at 8 p.m. at the Boris Christoff House of Culture.
The Brad Melhdau Trio with Larry Grenadier and Jeff Ballard will be on stage on October 31st at 8pm in the Boris Christoff House of Culture.
On October 29th, 30th and 31st there will be jam sessions in Bee Bop CafÃ©, 1 Gladstone Street.
A valid Covid certificate is required to enter the Plovdiv Jazz Fest 2021 events.
