Akshay Kumar on Raksha Bandhan-Laal Singh Chaddha releases same day: “It’s not a clash I hope both films…”

Akshaykumaralong with filmmaker Aanand L Rai and co-star Bhumi Pednekar, unveiled the trailer of his upcoming film Raksha Bandhan in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Here, while addressing the press, Akshay spoke about his film clashing at the box office with the highly anticipated Forrest Gump remake Laal Singh Chaddha by Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

The actor said: “It’s not a clash. It’s about good films coming together. And it’s a big day. Due to Covid-19, many films have not been released and some are still awaiting a release date. So it’s natural for more films to be released together. I hope both films do well.”

Akshay’s Raksha Bandhan and Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha are scheduled to hit theaters on August 11th. Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan, also stars Mona Singh and Nag Chaitanya in key roles.

Akshay also shared the trailer on social media platforms, writing, “Jahan parivaar ka pyaar hota hai, wahan har rukaavat ka samadhaan bhi hota hai! ✨

As the trailer provided insights into the film’s premise, which revolves around how a brother gives his all to marry his four sisters, the actor also opened up about his relationship with his sister Alka Bhatia, who presents the film, who is directed by Rais Production house is supported color yellow films.

Akshay shared that he and his sister hardly ever had sibling rivalry. He said: “Agar 7-8 saal ke andar kuch ho toh. Varna mujhe yaad nahi hai humari koi ladai hui ho. (It could have happened in the last 7-8 years. But other than that, I don’t remember arguing with my sister).”

“She’s my biggest supporter, my biggest critic, she’s everything to me and I’m everything to her,” concluded Akshay Kumar.
