Today the second school term begins, and the students 1st through 6th graders and 8th, 9th and 11th graders are returning school in Sofia. Yesterday 700 students have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
This was explained to BNT by Vanya Kastreva, Head of Regional Education Management in the capital.
Starting today, school leaders have the ability to automatically issue a class quarantine order directly by entering information about a sick student or teacher into the system. In good communication with parents, this is another prerequisite for containing the epidemic, Kastreva said.
According to her 1,000 students in Sofia study in an electronic environment at the request of their parents. More than 48% of teachers have been vaccinated and 30% have fallen ill in the past 180 days, Kastreva added. Vaccinated students in junior high school are 7% and up school – just over 9%, she added.
At the moment we have no reason to extend this school year, because in practice there is no delay and we did not have days off from school, said Deputy Minister of Education Maria Gaidarova on bTV. She also announced data on quarantined teachers and children. Currently, an average of 2.97% of teachers across the country are in quarantine, the most in Burgas – 4.49% and the least in Blagoevgrad – 1.31%.
From the children of school and preschoolers are quarantined at a national average of 1.23%. Most are in Varna – over 2%, and least in Blagoevgrad – 0.41%. Almost 50% of the teachers are already vaccinated and 30% are ill.
